Great Ayton, Roseberry Topping and Captain Cook’s Monument 1

First time I have done this walk and it was one of the hardest I have done mainly because of the hill climbs, saying that its defiantly a rewarding climb with beautiful 360 degree view.

The walk starts off in the pretty village Great Ayton Captain Cooks home.

Round the corner through the gate.

To the right you can see Captains cook Monument and the path is fairly straight onto the hill climb

Crossing railway tracks always makes me feel uneasy

My first view of the Topping quite a beautiful looking hill At sitting at 1,049 feet (320 m)

The shooting box also is great if it starts pouring down with rain.

Looking up at the climb ahead.

My favourite view from the top looking on to Captains cook monument. Now time to catch some breath and enjoy the view.

Back on it and on to Captain Cooks Monument

Another Hill Climb

A walk past lots of heather and the and the last hill!

Beautiful place for a picnic

Small park for the kids and a few goats to feed.

One of the last of the only three Victorian urinals and the walks is finished.

On finishing this route it was defiantly hard walk with some steep climbs up and down. Once at Captains Cook it will be all down hill.

We finished the walk in 4 hours toilets around with plenty of places to have a bite to eat in the village also free parking.
