Google Home Voice Command Cheat Sheet


Here is a voice command cheat sheet for google home if you have a memory like me comes in handy. Download it and print it out for ease.

 

The Basics

  • Ask for help:
    • “Help.”
  • Control the volume:
    • “Turn it up a little bit.” (5% increase)
    • “Turn it up.”, “Louder”, “Volume up” (10% increase)
    • “Crank up the volume.” (13% increase)
    • “Turn it up a lot.” (18% increase)
    • “Turn the volume up a ton.” (Sets volume to 11)
    • “Turn it to 11.”
    • Set volume as a percentage from 1-100% where 1 is barely audible or numbers 1-11
  • Feedback to Google
    • “F**k you!”
    • “You suck.”
    • “You’re the worst.”
    • “Can I speak to your manager?”
    • Seemingly countless variations of insults lead to the ability to send feedback.
  • Halt/stopping an action:
    • “Stop.”
    • “Pause.”
    • “Be quiet.”
    • “Mute.”
    • “Quiet.”
    • “Silence.”
    • “Shut up.”
    • “Shut the f*** up.”
  • Relationships: (Person must be in your contact list)
    • “[Name] is my [relationship].”

Tools/Utility

  • Counting:
    • Count to [number]
  • Roll a die:
    • “Roll a die.”
    • “Roll a 12-sided die.”
    • “Roll [x] D-20’s.”
  • Flip a coin:
    • “Flip a coin.”
  • Random number:
    • “Give me a random number between [x] and [y].”
  • Math:
    • “What’s [x] [plus | minus | times | divided by | modulus] [y]”
    • “What’s the [(co)sine | square root] of [x]?”
    • “What is the value of Pi?”
    • “Recite Pi.”
  • Conversions:
    • “How many liters are in 4 gallons?”
    • “How much is 100 Euros in dollars?”
  • Time:
    • “What time is it?”
    • “What time is it in [city]?”
  • Location:
    • “Where am I?”
  • Alarm:
    • “Set an alarm for [time].” (will only be on device you set in on for now)
    • “Snooze alarm.”
    • “Cancel my alarm for [time].”
  • Timer: (Name is optional)
    • “Set a [time] timer for [name].”
    • “How much time is left on my [name] timer?”
    • “Cancel my [name] timer”
  • Recipes:
    • “How do I make [dish]?”
  • Shopping list:
    • “Add [item] to my shopping list.”
    • “What’s on my shopping list?”
  • Daily briefing:
    • “Good morning.”
    • “Skip”
  • Saying Goodbye:
    • “See you later Google!”
  • Repeat:
    • “Repeat after me [phrase]”
  • Music:
